The Ultimate JLL Treadmill Guide

Complete Guide to every JLL Treadmill

Every Treadmill from British Fitness Brand JLL Reviewed and Compared

JLL Treadmill models grow in popularity every year – and for great reasons.

These home treadmills fill a gap between the expensive big-name brands you find in commercial gyms, and the no-name budget treadmills that are little better than (dangerous) toys.

With JLL, you get a choice of five mid-priced treadmills with digital compatibility. They all fold between runs and have key features including automatic incline and pro cushioned running surfaces.

What you also get with this brand is peace of mind. JLL are a British brand with a giant showroom in Birmingham. Their after-sales service comes up as a positive in feedback from 100’s of JLL treadmill owners. Add a real warranty (good luck claiming on a warranty from a ‘no-name’ Chinese brand!), payment options and a commitment to quality – and you’ll understand what makes JLL tick.

This page takes you through the treadmill options from JLL. All five models are covered, along with the key differences, features list and FAQ.

First, I have summarised what is available from most expensive to cheapest in the table below.

Prices and discounts change frequently – so instead of listing the prices, I’ll give you a link to check the latest deals for yourself.

JLL T550 Treadmill – Large Running Surface and Excellent Electronics

JLL T550 Treadmill ReviewThe T550 treadmill is the flagship of the range. It has a significantly wider running surface than the other models – at 156cm long and 51cm wide. This is comparable with models costing 2x to 3x as much from the likes of NordicTrack and Sole.

Electronics also stand out. This is the only treadmill from JLL Fitness which is compatible with popular running apps including KinoMap and Zwift.

You get Bluetooth for your entertainment options, or a USB port if you prefer.

Like all the JLL treadmills the T550 folds. The soft-drop (hydraulic) system makes this easy. You get a 20km / hour top speed, and 20 levels of electronic incline. These are easy to change using sensitive one-touch controls on the electronic console. JLL highlight the advanced cushioning on the running surface, which uses silicone rubber. This keeps the T550 model quiet – despite the more powerful engine.

You get a lot of treadmill for the price with the T550.

JLL T450 Treadmill – Technology Packed Compact Model

JLL T450 Treadmill ReviewI love the design of the T450, especially the way the console angles away from the arms.

This model is compact compared to the T550, though still packs a considerable punch. It has an 18km / hour top speed (more than enough for 99% of us!). 20 level electronic incline will help you up the burn at the touch of a button.

The running surface is 127cm by 42cm – larger than most budget treadmills, though not as big as those you’ll find in commercial gyms. Soft-drop folding uses hydraulic levers for easy storage.

A big backlit LCD display will show all the key stats (including heart rate) and calories burned. There are 20 preset programmes and an option to add three custom ones. Link up your own entertainment using Bluetooth or USB.

Loads of positive feedback for the JLL T450. What comes up again and again is ‘value for money’.

When you compare the spec with higher priced branded models, you’ll quickly understand why.

JLL S400 Treadmill – Stunning New Generation Running Machine

S400 Treadmill from JLLJLL refreshed the designs of their treadmills in 2023 – and it shows!

The S400 follows the pattern of price vs speed. This one has a 16km / hour top speed. The running deck is wider than for the T450 – at 45cm wide and 135cm long. That top speed is perfect for all but the keen runners out there, especially if you are under six feet tall or don’t feel the urge to sprint.

This model has a 16-point cushioning system to protect your joints from impacts. It also has 20 levels of incline – perfect for varying the intensity of your runs. Like all the current JLL Fitness treadmills, you get a soft-drop folding mechanism.

Entertainment options can be via a USB port (which also charges your phone / tablet) or via Bluetooth. There are built-in speakers.

While the display is basic, it does work with one-touch style controls, and has all the key statistics. This includes your heart rate if you grab the built in sensors. Feedback from regular users says that the S400 treadmill does a solid job of the basics at a decent price. When you add the famous JLL Fitness customer service and warranty – this makes for a risk-free purchase.

JLL T350 Treadmill – Small but Powerful

JLL T350 Treadmill ReviewWhile the T350 is the most compact of the ‘T Series’ JLL treadmills, it certainly packs in some power.

The 18km / hour top speed is enough for most people to feel the burn. When you add incline (20 levels) then the T350 has enough oomph for even experienced runners. The size is worth noting for taller runners. The running surface is 122cm long and 41cm wide, which is considerably smaller than the T550 covered above. This model is recommended for runners up to 120kg (which is 18.89 stone in old money).

Alloy steel construction keeps this treadmill light, with the soft-drop system allowing you to fold it for easy storage. The running surface has 16-point cushioning, which is an important addition – especially for regular runners.

You get a 5” LCD display, with one-touch style buttons below it. Choose between manual speed / incline settings, one of 20 preset runs, or 3 custom runs. The T350 has a heart-rate monitor.

Like the other models, you can connect your phone or tablet using a USB, or remotely via Bluetooth. There are high-powered speakers built in.

The T350 has overwhelmingly positive feedback (a couple of delivery grumbles aside). If you are six feet and up, I’d opt for a model with a wider running surface – otherwise this powerful compact model ticks every box.

JLL S300 Treadmill – Best Selling Model

JLL S300 Treadmill Mid-RangeJLL have sold more of the S300 Treadmills than any other model.

These versatile running machines tick all the right boxes for home users. They are compact, robust, and versatile. While you won’t get the latest technology or a touch-screen HD monitor, you get a great treadmill at the fraction of the price of rival brands with the S300.

With a 122cm by 41cm running surface, the S300 is smaller than the S400 covered above. This model is built for users up to 120kg (18.89 stone), and for me it would be too compact for anyone six feet tall+. That said, for average size users then 16km / hour top speed and 20 incline levels are more than enough power for a vigorous workout.

The LCD monitor is the same one as used for the other models. With responsive controls, USB port and Bluetooth compatibility. This will show speed, distance, calories, and heart rate (gripping the sensors required). It has 15 programmes plus three you can customise.

As always with JLL Treadmills you get a full 2-year parts and labour warranty, plus 5 years for the motor.

With the lower price point, the S300 is perfect for causal use – check out the spec and gallery now at the official JLL store on amazon.co.uk.

Why Buy JLL Treadmills? About the JLL Fitness Brand

JLL Fitness are a UK based brand that fill a huge gap in the fitness equipment world.

On one side you have the big name, expensive brands that you’ll be familiar with from commercial gyms (or super expensive home equipment like Peloton). At the other extreme there are horrible no-name treadmills, many of them have names which only just make sense or are a collection of seemingly random capital letters. They get a suspicious number of five-star reviews, then disappear when the truth comes out – only to be replaced a week later by a similarly named identical looking knock-off… hmmm.

Back to JLL.

They fill the gap perfectly. Mid-priced, reliable treadmills with top quality customer service from their Birmingham based HQ.

Sure, I could add all the ‘corporate slogans’ about commitment to excellence… I’d prefer to say that the quality speaks for itself, and once you add real service, well – how many brands get both of these right??!

Features of JLL Treadmill Models: Which are Important for You?

Prioritising the treadmill features that matter most to you is a great decision-making shortcut.

My suggestion is to quickly go through the list below, assigning a score to each feature:

  • Not Important
  • Neutral / Nice to Have
  • Must Have

After that, start with your ‘must have’ list, go backwards through my mini-reviews, and find the model which has them all. If you are then split between two JLL treadmill models, you can compare again based on your nice-to-have list.

Speed:

The range of speeds is 20km / hour (T550) to 16km / hour (S300). Both are fast, with the 20km / hour a serious sprint for all but the tallest and fittest runners. You can also factor the incline with these top speeds. Fat burning and endurance training will be fine between 16 and 18km / hour. If you have an athlete in the family, then the higher speeds make a big difference.

Incline:

All the current JLL treadmills have incline – making this feature easy. They offer this electronically at the touch of a button. If you see budget treadmills from other brands with ‘manual incline,’ my suggestion is to avoid them. Those involve stopping your run and moving pins to change the angle of the running surface. Even the cheapest JLL treadmills have electronic incline – a big plus.

Console view T450 digital treadmill JLL

Cushioning:

Protecting your joints will keep your fitness streak going year after year. Cushioned running surfaces are key (along with quality running shoes). There are two types of cushioning on JLL treadmills. The lower-priced models use standard rubber, which will be plenty for lighter exercise. If you are really pounding out the miles, the silicone rubber of the T550 is part of their advanced cushioning system.

Running Area:

Your size counts with the running surface sizes. Only the T550 comes close to the size of commercial gym running machines. This is 156cm long and 51 cm wide. Width is important, as wider running surfaces are safer.

Here are the running belt sizes side-by-side:

  • T550: 156cm x 51cm
  • T450: 127cm x 42cm
  • S400: 135cm x 45cm
  • T350: 122cm x 41cm
  • S300: 122cm x 41cm

JLL Treadmill Features

Folding:

Space is at a premium, and the ability to fold your treadmill between uses is a key factor for most buyers. All JLL treadmills fold using a ‘soft drop’ system. There are hydraulic levers under your treadmill. When you lift it a few centimetres, this kicks in and makes it far easier to lift the running surface up towards the console. This is even more important on the way down, as you won’t need to support the whole weight of the running surface while it goes flat.

Console Features:

You won’t find HD touch-screen consoles on JLL treadmills. This is an important part of what keeps the prices firmly in the mid-budget range. As a side note (for higher budgets) the screens on NordicTrack treadmills will blow you away. JLL treadmills have functional back-lit LED consoles. They provide all the key stats to track your runs. I’d compare them on the preset programmes, app compatibility (see below) and entertainment options.

App Compatibility:

Running apps are super-popular these days, adding social elements, personal trainers, advanced stats tracking and maps to your training. While you could ‘gerry rig’ your own tracker and iPad / tablet, apps work best when they get the data from the treadmill itself. Of the JLL range, only the T550 is app compatible. This will work with popular apps like Zwift and KinoMap.

Zwift and the T550

Bluetooth for Entertainment:

There are two camps when it comes to running, and I’m firmly in the entertainment (not tracking app) camp. This could be a podcast, YouTube, Netflix or simply some upbeat music to get your moving. All the JLL treadmills listed above have Bluetooth, USB ports (for charging as well as entertainment) and built-in speakers. A big plus that budget models simply won’t offer.

Quietness:

The noise of a treadmill is a factor of the motor size and cushioning. These are super-important if you live in a flat – or don’t want to disturb the family from your spare room. As you go up the range of treadmills, you get bigger motors, and you get advanced cushioning. Whichever JLL running machine model you go for; I strongly recommend a rubber mat. This will keep things quiet and will protect your flooring – all for a small investment.

Reliability and Safety:

JLL treadmills are reliable, and you have a British brand with excellent after-sales service to back this claim. I would never buy a treadmill without at least one year of parts and labour in the warranty. You’ll find all the treadmills on this list have two years, plus 5 years for the motor and lifetime for the frame. All JLL treadmill models come with a safety key which will stop the motor should you fall off.

JLL Fitness: Treadmill FAQ

What is the Price Range of JLL Treadmills?

JLL Treadmills range from £1000+ down to a little over £500+ at the time of writing. There are five models in the current range, with the T550 at the top end and S300 at the budget end. JLL offer regular discounts and specials, which is why I don’t include specifics of the pricing with my mini reviews.

The best deals are though the official JLL Amazon store. This also features payment plans that allow you to spread your purchase over multiple instalments.

Are JLL Treadmills Good Quality?

Absolutely! JLL treadmills are backed by a British brand which is famous for quality machines and after-sales service to look after their loyal customers. You get a full 2-year parts and labour warranty, which is longer than the single year offered by many brands. Checking the feedback for treadmills, exercise bikes and rowers from JLL will quickly show you just how robust their equipment is.

Will I Need to Assemble my Treadmill?

Yes. The base (running surface) and console with arms will come assembled, and you will need to put them together. Tools are provided for this task. While relatively simple, JLL do understand that there is a wide range of DIY skill levels out there. If this worries you, then expert assembly is a great value option. I did this for my latest treadmill, and the price was more than worth it for avoiding the stress!

What if Something Breaks / Goes Wrong?

JLL has you covered if something breaks or goes wrong for a full two years. The warranty covers both parts and labour. You simply phone their excellent customer services, and they will handle it. The motor is covered for five years and the frame for longer. This backup if something does go wrong is what makes JLL stand out for me. Buy a ‘no name’ cheapy treadmill, and you have no chance of getting anything fixed!

Do JLL Treadmills Work with iPhone / Android Running Apps?

Only the T550 treadmill from JLL is app compatible. This works with popular Android and iPhone apps including Zwift, KinoMap and Google Maps. Now that apps are mainstream, I fully expect JLL Fitness to build compatibility into their future models.

Can I Pay for my JLL Treadmill in Instalments?

Yes, instalments are available via the official JLL Amazon store in conjunction with Barclays. I can’t offer financial advice on this site (it’s about the best equipment, money is out of my sphere of expertise!). Note that paying in instalments does come with fees, which are represented as an APR%.

Are there Age and Weight Limits for JLL Treadmills?

JLL state that children under 12 are strictly prohibited from using their treadmills. Children from 12 to 18 can only use them under adult supervision. Each treadmill comes with a maximum recommended user weight, you will see this as part of the technical spec at the JLL Amazon store. For example, the T550 recommends a maximum user weight of 120kgs, which is 18.8 stone.

Alternatives to JLL Treadmills: What Other Brands Should Be Considered?

While JLL hit the sweet spot between value, quality, and after-sales service – there are multiple treadmill brands that they compete with.

This is especially true if you can stretch your budget to the £1500+ range (where super-brands like NordicTrack become accessible).

Here are three brands that are worth taking a look at. Links to these pages will open in a new tab, so you can compare them side by side.

ProForm:

Alternative to JLL Treadmills ProformI’m a fan of the new ‘Carbon’ range from ProForm. Their treadmills are mid-priced, have advanced cushioning technology, and (like the JLL range of running machines), will fold away between uses. You get a trial of ‘iFit’ with your ProForm treadmill – with the top-end models having built in HD screens and the lower-end ones synching with your iPad or phone. See my comparison page for ProForm Treadmills for all the information.

Branx:

The Elite Runner Pro from Branx has been a best-seller for years, and the new Energy Pro is giving it a good run for its dominance. These are big home treadmills (the tiny model on the pictures is almost comical, though the size checks out!). You get incline, folding and a big console. Check out the Energy Pro from Branx fitness here.

NordicTrack:

NordicTrack alternative to JLL?This brand combines style and advanced technology like no other treadmill maker. Sure, they are expensive – though when you see the specs, they are amazing machines. At the top end you get incline trainers (40% incline!), with the commercial range, then the brand new EXP range also available. If you are considering a JLL T550, then the EXP 7i is worth a look. Check out my guide to NordicTrack Treadmills for all the current models.

Wrapping Up: I Love JLL – and Their Treadmill Range is a Great Reason Why

Quality mid-priced treadmills with amazing after-sales service from an established British brand makes JLL popular year-after-year.

Whether you choose the T series or S series running machines, you’ll get incline, cushioning and safety built in.

Best of all, you won’t need to break the bank to get into shape!

I have added the table from the start of this guide again below – by now you will have a great idea of exactly what makes JLL treadmills stand out.
