JLL T450 Folding Treadmill Review

JLL T450 Treadmill Review

Summary: The ‘T’ in the T450 Treadmill from JLL stands for ‘Technology’. This is the next level up from the massively popular T350 (which I’m already a fan of). It is a big, powerful unit with an impressive top speed of 18km / hour. JLL are UK-based and well known for excellent after sales service. The T450 is fully covered for parts and labour for 2 years. It is the app connectivity, display and programmes which make this big mid-budget treadmill worth the money.

Detailed Review of the JLL T450 Treadmill

This is a big unit, half again as big as many of the lower priced models. It is a full 168cms long by 72cms wide and 133cm tall at the top of the console. This gives you a 127cm x 42cm running surface – more than enough for a comfortable and safe run. Shock absorbers come as standard with the better JLL products. This protects your joints from jarring while you run.

The motor packs a punch. This is a 2.5 horse power unit, which peaks at 4.5hp when you hit the top speed of 18km / hour. That is a sprinting speed for almost everyone. There are 20 levels of incline on the T450. This can be adjusted as you run – which keeps your workouts varied, and as intensive as you like.

This model folds to save space. Max user weight is 120kgs, more than 18 stone. Home fitness equipment makers are always a little conservative with these recommendations.

Console with USB Interface and Bluetooth

JLL T450 Treadmill ConsoleA major plus point for the ‘T’ range of treadmills from JLL is their compatibility with popular tech standards. You can plug in devices using the USB port, or connect using Bluetooth. You can connect music or a podcast through the built-in speakers this way. This model does not connect to 3rd party apps. You will be able to charge your phone or tablet while you work out.

The display is detailed. You get a series of easy push button controls to adjust the speed and incline. With 20 pre set programmes to choose from, you can keep your workouts varied.

A free chest strap is included with the T450. This monitors your pulse rate, which is displayed. As you gain experience you can use your own pulse rate to adjust your workout.

Feedback: What Current Owners Said About the JLL T450 Treadmill

Largely positive feedback for this treadmill. There were a couple of negatives (not foaming at the mouth rants this time) for deliveries with missing parts. One person did not like the quality of the footrests – an ‘obvious’ reason for a one-star review and rambling stream of fury!?!

Those who used it were positive, it was noted that this would be an easy recommendation to friends and family. The programmes came in for some praise. With 20 of them, it was noted that there is enough to push you harder as you gain fitness.

JLL are well known in the industry for having excellent customer service. It came as no surprise for me to see this mentioned as a positive in the comments.

You should always check the latest feedback before buying fitness equipment of any type. And remember that the manufacturers like to use small models for their product shoots!

Wrapping Up: Is the JLL T450 Treadmill Right for You?

For a big, solid home treadmill from a popular / trusted brand, the JLL T450 ticks all the right boxes. My one concern is that it is not (yet) compatible with KinoMap or other 3rd party fitness apps. You can listen to music while you work out – and the console has plenty of programs. If app-compatibility is key for you, then the T550 Treadmill is a great option at a similar price point.

The 20 incline levels and 18km / hour top speed are huge plusses for this JLL machine.

Add the free chest strap, quiet motor and shock absorbing running surface, and you will quickly see why this is fast becoming a best-selling mid-priced model.
