LifeSpan TR1200i Treadmill Review

Update: This item is no longer available… I’ll keep an eye open for when / if it returns, in the meantime the place to check for great alternatives is my main treadmill reviews page.

Summary: The built in safety system which stops when you step off of the treadmill sets this apart from other premium models. Bigger model too, which makes a nice change from the many flimsy / budget devices at the lower end of the pay scale. This one has a dream spec, check out the product page at amazon.co.uk for more.

PROS:
  • IntelliGuard safety system
  • Counts your steps as well as distance / speed
  • Bigger, more robust treadmill

CONS:
  • Higher end price tag
  • Big footprint space-wise

Detailed Review of the LifeSpan TR1200i Treadmill

There are two big features which make the LifeSpan TR1200i stand out from the crowd in the premium end of the home treadmills market. Firstly, this is a big and wide model, much more like the ones you will find in the gym than many of the small and narrow home use models. Second there is the IntelliGuard system in use. This detects when you step off of the treadmill (either accidentally or deliberately) and brings the belt to a fast and smooth stop.

The same detecting system which stops the belt is also used to count your steps, something which most treadmills do not do. This information is displayed on the screen, along with your distance and calories burned. You’ll also have heart rate monitoring and memory for your progress as standard.

This is not the cheapest treadmill, I recommend it for those who are sure that running will be a part of their home fitness routine. If you want quality and safety, as well as a chunky and robust design – then the LifeSpan TR1200i fits the bill nicely.
