Detailed Review of the Marcy Eclipse UB9000 Weight Bench

The Marcy Eclipse is made from heavy gauge solid steel and finished with a black powder coat, it looks great and is comfortable to use. This bench supports a total weight of 270kg. What I liked best about it is the flexibility. There are 6 seat and 3 incline positions, and support for standard or Olympic weights. You can use it with your own rack, which gives you the flexibility of changing up your rack as you move up in weight – without having to replace your bench setup.

The back plate supports upright, flat, decline and 3 other grades of incline while the seat pad also supports flat as well as 2 other grades of incline. To ensure stability and safety the Marcy Eclipse is fitted with sawhook catchers meaning there is no need to worry back-plates slipping. It’s easy to assemble thanks to the provided instruction manual and when fixed in the fully upright position it takes up minimal space.

As well as bench exercises, the Marcy Eclipse comes with a leg developers that can support 1” or 2” Olympic weight plates and your comfort is assured with soft foam pads. You never have to miss leg day again. Without weight racks you’re limited on the range of exercises you can do compared to other benches, but for this you pay less and get something that’s easy to fit into even the smallest of home gyms.

Marcy are a well known exercise brand with a great reputation for high quality lifting equipment. Feedback on the Eclipse has been good. People find it durable, comfortable and easy to put together. One buyer complained that the bench became unstable with the full 50kg weights for the leg extension – though others have called this a stable and sturdy bench.
