Summary: The Dripex Water Rower makes a water-resistance rowing machine available at a shockingly low price. My question for this review was whether it gets the job done compared to the original water-rowers that cost 3x (and more) the price?
What makes water rowing machines different is the front mounted tank. The more water you add, the higher the resistance. This is accompanied by a splashing sound – and is smoother and more predictable than magnetic resistance rowing.
At this low price point you don’t get a fancy wooden frame. The Dripex Water Rower comes with an LCD monitor, and a sturdy frame that holds a hefty 265lbs max.

Detailed Review of the Dripex Water Rower / Rowing Machine
This water rower is built from steel and aluminium, with plastic for the clear water tank, seat, and accessories. Design is a positive for me. The curves over the top of the tank and wide support beams give a rugged look to this rower.
It is almost 2 meters end-to-end. The dimensions are 189.6cm long, 52.2cm wide (at the widest point of the front support beam) and 86.4cm high to the top of the console. It is a sturdy machine which will handle users up to 120kgs (18.89 stone).
The rail uses two aluminium supports. Compared to single supports, you won’t get that annoying slight sideways wobble. They hold a larger than average padded seat. Footrests have straps and are plenty big enough for larger feet. This model folds, with the rail going upright to save space.
Water Tank and Resistance Options
Resistance for this water powered rowing machine comes via 12 blades inside the water tank. As with all water rowers, you change the resistance by adjusting how much water is in the tank. All tanks are pressure tested – to ensure there are no messy accidents!
While removing and adding water does take some effort – water rower fans feel that the benefits outweigh this. You get smoother and more realistic resistance than any magnetic machine will offer – along with realistic splashing sounds.

This scans between time spent rowing, distance covered, calories burned, stroke count, and total count. I like the fact that you can adjust both the height and angle of this monitor to get a comfortable view.

Feedback: What Did Owners of the Dripex Water Rower Have to Say?
Dripex have decent feedback for their other machines, which include rowers, treadmills, and exercise bikes.
Their water rower has great feedback, with almost everyone giving either four- or five-star reviews. When you consider that some assembly is needed, that feedback is excellent.
Some people were unhappy that they needed to remove and add water to change the resistance. I get that this is a hassle, though even the smallest amount of research into how water rowers work would have saved it being any sort of surprise!
On the whole, people felt they got a sturdy machine, which was fair value. Again, if you compare the price to the official Water Rower models, you’ll see the giant difference.
Several people mentioned it was easy to put together.
Wrapping Up: Is the Dripex Water Rowing Machine Any Good?
For the price, it is hard to get a rowing machine with water resistance.
The maker Dripex specialise in budget level fitness equipment and create multiple good quality cheaper machines. Their water rower continues in the same spirit, offering water resistance rowing at around 1/3rd of the price of top-end models.
You get a big, solid water rower with a simple LCD monitor. This folds away and is tested to ensure the water stays in the clear tank.
For water resistance in a budget rower, it is hard to go wrong at this price.
