ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill Review

ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill

When you consider that the Pro 2000 treadmill from ProForm is now their mid-range model – it shows you just how far this popular brand has come in recent years.

In this detailed review, I get behind the stunning new design. I examine the technology, comfort, and decide whether it is worth the money – or whether you should opt for the top-of-range Pro 9000 instead.

The ProForm Pro 2000 comes with a free trial of iFit. Trainer-led runs and group classes add an extra dimension to your training sessions. The 2000 has incline, cushioning technology, and a powerful, quiet motor.

You’ll find the latest price (and whether ProForm are having one of their regular sales!) on the dedicated Pro 2000 Treadmill page at the official UK ProForm Store.

Detailed Review of the ProForm Pro 2000 Home Treadmill

Let’s start with the size and physical dimensions – I’ll get to the special features of the Pro 2000 running machine below.

This is a bigger treadmill, at almost 2 meters long with a wide 152cm x 51cm running surface.

Here are the assembled dimensions:

196cm long, 89cm wide and 151cm tall. Note that the box is huge, and the weight of the 2000 is a hefty 100kg. While not quite as big as treadmills you find in commercial gyms, this is still a big item. It does fold (see below!).

ProForm recommend a maximum user weight of 136kgs. That is over 21 stone.

This home treadmill comes with rollers to move it around.

Speed, Incline and Decline on the ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill

Unless you are a pro athlete, the Pro 2000 from ProForm has more speed than you’ll need.

It goes up to 19km / hour (I’m 5’11 and run regularly and rarely get above 14km / hour…. Especially with incline).

You get 12% incline, and 3% decline. This is enough to make your runs varied and instantly more challenging. Your trainer can control this and the speed via the iFit app. Decline is unusual, and for me it is the mark of a quality home treadmill.

The running surface is big. It also uses ‘ReBound Pro’ ™ cushioning, great for lowering impact, and for enjoyable runs.

Technology Makes the Pro 2000 an Excellent Addition to the ProForm Range

There is more to the technology than just the link to iFit.

The 10-inch HD touchscreen controls this treadmill with or without linking an app. There are one-touch controls for speed and incline, and this machine will stop smoothly and quickly. I won’t go into the details of each control here, as they are the same for all the high-end ProForm treadmills.

You get Bluetooth, so you can link to apps and other devices (heart rate trackers, headphones and so on).

iFit is amazing.

You’ll need to decide after your free 1-month trial whether to keep paying the monthly fee. It is a mix of a live training program, video library, stats tracking service and group / social media app. Some people prefer to watch TV or listen to music while running – while others swear by iFit – you get to choose!

Check out the close-ups of the touchscreen and controls (and see the finance options) over on this dedicated page at the official ProForm UK site now!

ProForm Pro 2000: Small Extras

If you have never used ‘East Lift Assist’ from ProForm (or NordicTrack), then you’ll be amazed the first time you try it.

This uses a hydraulic lever to make folding the long running platform smooth and effortless.

Another mention is the size of the motor. This is 3.25 CHP, plenty enough for a smooth, quiet run.

Finally for the extras, you get built-in speakers.

Feedback: What Buyers of the Pro 2000 Treadmills from ProForm Said?

Not enough feedback to report accurately for this new model as yet.

ProForm has a solid reputation, and their older models have consistently good feedback.

The warranty is solid, with 2 years cover for parts and labour, five for the motor and a lifetime guarantee for the frame.

I have made a note to pop back to this review in 3 months’ time and check how the buyer feedback is going.

Wrapping Up: Is the ProForm Pro 2000 Treadmill Any Good?

No doubt for me that this is a wonderful home treadmill. Whether you choose this one, or the bigger HD screen on the Pro 9000 model will depend on your budget and how important a big screen is.

You get a lot of technology with the 2000.

This starts with the 10” HD screen (and iFit) and continues into the motor, running surface and welcome extras. You get a fan, speakers and easy-to-use one touch controls.

I’d be happy to recommend the Pro 2000 – though would be tempted by the Pro 9000 too…
